Sunflowers are iconic. Over the years, I've grown many sunflowers, but my favorite are the ProCut series, and I've included my top favs in our collection. ProCut Sunflowers are professional-quality cut flowers that are incredibly reliable. They're fast to plant, easy to grow, quick to mature, and a breeze to harvest. Plus, they have impressive vase life. These single-stem varieties produce one flower per stem, so they should not be pinched.
They also don’t take up much space, only needing about 4- to 6-inch spacing. In a 4′ x 25′ bed, you can fit over 400 sunflowers at 6-inch spacing. Squeeze to 4-inch spacing, and that’s over 900 plants. How close you plant directly impacts flower and stem size. Closer spacing produces smaller stems and flowers (which we prefer for design). For a continual harvest, sow every 2 two weeks.

How to Grow
Direct seed (recommended): After last frost, sow 1/2" deep. Transplant: Sow indoors 2-3 weeks prior to planting out. Do not pinch. These are daylength-neutral, meaning they will flower even during short days. For a continual harvest, sow every 2 weeks.
Harvest & Vase Life
For longest vase life and best quality, harvest once 1 or 2 petals lift off of the disk.
