Bulb Sale Terms & Conditions

Bulb, Corm + Bare Root Sale Policies

Below you’ll find everything you need to know when purchasing bulbs, corms, and bare roots from Petal Back Farm.

When we use the term “bulbs” throughout this policy, we may be referring collectively to bulbs, corms, and bare roots unless otherwise specified.

We know rules aren’t the most exciting part of flower ordering, but we’ve learned they’re necessary to keep everything running smoothly. So let’s get this part out of the way so we can move on to the fun stuff: planting flowers!

By purchasing bulbs, corms, or bare roots from Petal Back Farm LLC, you agree to the following policies and terms.

Ordering

Having an item in your cart does not reserve it. Inventory is secured only once you successfully complete checkout and receive an order number and confirmation email.

Once an order has been placed, we are unable to add or remove individual items or combine it with another order. If you would like additional items, please place a separate order.

Separate orders will ship separately and applicable shipping charges will apply to each order.

Returns, Refunds + Exchanges

All sales are considered final. However, if there is an issue with your order, a return, exchange, refund, or replacement may be authorized at the sole discretion of Petal Back Farm LLC and in accordance with the guarantees outlined below.

Please review our general Returns, Exchanges + Refunds Policy for additional information:

Inspecting Your Order

Please inspect all bulbs, corms, and bare roots promptly upon delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, incorrect, nonviable, or with another issue that may qualify under our guarantees, please email support@petalbackfarm.com within five (5) days of delivery.

Please include:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Clear photos of the affected item(s)

Please contact us before disposing of any product related to a claim, as we may need additional photos or information to evaluate the issue.

Because bulbs, corms, and bare roots are living plant material, their performance after planting can be affected by storage, planting practices, soil, weather, climate, pests, disease, and other environmental or cultural conditions. Failure to thrive after planting due to these factors does not qualify for a refund or replacement unless otherwise specifically covered by a guarantee.

Our Promise

Above all else, we want you to be happy with your order! We spend months sourcing varieties, from rare and unusual finds to the tried-and-true favorites we grow and love here on the farm. Sharing them with you is one of our favorite parts of what we do.

That said, we’re working with nature, and sometimes things do not go exactly as planned. Suppliers can experience crop failures, varieties can vary in appearance, and occasionally mistakes or mix-ups happen.

If there is a problem with your order, please reach out. We’ll review the circumstances and determine the appropriate resolution based on the policies and guarantees outlined here.

Crop Failures + Availability

Because we work with living plant material, occasionally a crop may fail or an item we expected to receive may become unavailable before we are able to fulfill your order.

When possible, our suppliers may offer a replacement variety. If this occurs, we may contact you with a replacement option. If you prefer not to receive the proposed replacement, we may refund the original unavailable item.

Depending on the circumstances, Petal Back Farm LLC may offer an agreed-upon substitution, refund the affected item, or provide another appropriate resolution.

Incorrect Items + Varieties

If you believe you received an incorrect item or variety, please contact us at support@petalbackfarm.com with your order number and clear photos when applicable.

If we confirm an error, Petal Back Farm LLC may, at its sole discretion, provide a replacement, refund the affected item, or offer another appropriate resolution.

Any refund or other monetary liability will not exceed the original purchase price of the affected item.

Color + Natural Variation

Flowers and plants are natural products, and their appearance can vary.

Color, size, form, markings, and other characteristics may be influenced by growing conditions, climate, soil, weather, lighting, photography, and other environmental factors. For this reason, a flower may not look exactly the same in your garden as it does in a product photograph.

Some varieties may also be new to us, in which case we may use photographs or information provided by our suppliers. When applicable, we do our best to note this in the product listing.

Natural variation or differences in appearance do not necessarily indicate that an incorrect variety was supplied and do not, on their own, qualify for a refund or replacement.

If you believe the discrepancy is significant enough that you may have received an incorrect variety, please contact us. We may request photos or additional information and, when appropriate, consult our supplier.

Quantity Limits

Occasionally, we may place purchase limits on rare, highly sought-after, or limited-inventory varieties so that more growers have an opportunity to purchase them.

Any applicable quantity limit will be stated on the product listing.

Please respect these limits when placing your order. Petal Back Farm LLC reserves the right to cancel or refund orders, in whole or in part, that exceed stated purchase limits.

Shipping

Bulbs, corms, and bare roots are seasonal products, and shipping timelines vary depending on the product, harvest, supplier delivery schedules, weather, and availability.

Please review our Shipping Information page for current shipping timelines and important information regarding combined orders, tracking, and fulfillment:

https://shop.petalbackfarm.com/pages/shipping-info

The product listing is always the best source for the most current estimated shipping information for a particular item.

A Note on Peonies

Peonies are often one of the last products to arrive from our suppliers.

If an order contains both peonies and earlier-arriving bulbs or corms, the entire order will generally ship together once all items are available.

If you would like your bulbs or corms to ship separately from your peonies, please place them as separate orders.

Please review our Shipping Information page and individual product listings for current estimated shipping timelines.

Backorders

Occasionally, supplier delays or backorders may affect individual products.

If part of your order is significantly delayed after fulfillment of seasonal orders has begun, we may choose to ship available items separately and send the delayed item(s) once they arrive. When Petal Back Farm LLC chooses to split an order because of a supplier delay or backorder, we will cover the additional shipping cost.

Damage in Transit

Please inspect your shipment promptly after delivery.

If bulbs, corms, or bare roots arrive with signs of damage from transit, email support@petalbackfarm.com within five (5) days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the affected items and packaging when applicable.

We will review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution.

Local Pickup

We do not currently offer farm pickup for online orders.

If this changes in the future, available pickup options will be communicated on our website or during checkout.

Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax will be collected as required by law and calculated during checkout.

Limitation of Liability

Bulbs, corms, and bare roots are living plant material, and there is inherent risk involved in their storage, planting, and cultivation.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Petal Back Farm LLC’s maximum liability arising from the purchase of bulbs, corms, or bare roots will not exceed the purchase price of the affected item(s).

Petal Back Farm LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the purchase, storage, planting, cultivation, performance, or loss of plant material.

Refunds, replacements, exchanges, or other resolutions are subject to the terms of these policies and are determined at the sole discretion of Petal Back Farm LLC where permitted by law.
